The commonest first attempt and a perfectly reasonable one. What usually goes wrong is not the driving — it is that a self-drive van holds roughly a third of what people expect, and the discovery comes with the van already on the drive.

It happens more than the trade likes to admit, and it happens most often to whoever booked the cheapest figure. We will not say anything about the other firm; we will tell you what we can actually do and by when.

A storage unit is a very good way of stopping a problem and a poor way of solving one. Getting things out is a bigger job than putting them in was, because nobody made a list and it was stacked by whoever had the van.

Which is the best possible position
Genuinely. Everybody else on this list is working around a decision already made, and you are not. This page says what to settle first and, honestly, when a removals firm is not what you need.
What we do from here →Because a list of services assumes you are choosing between them from a standing start, and hardly anybody is. Most people arrive with a van already hired, a house half emptied, or a booking that fell through on the Friday.
Starting from what was already attempted skips a conversation nobody enjoys having, and it means the quotation is for the job that actually exists rather than for the one that was originally imagined. That job is frequently smaller and cheaper.
